transferring freight
forwarding systems from
germany to the UK
Successful project management transferring freight
forwarding systems from Germany to the UK.
This project resulted from the acquisition
of a major UK freight forward operation by a German
competitor.
Common systems were required to harmonise operational
management throughout the group. The resulting project
involved considerable communication, negotiation and
project management skills coupled with technical expertise
and flexibility.
This six month project, three spent on-site in Germany,
resulted in the successful migration of business processes
and also the German language IBM S38 system to a UK
based IBM AS400 operating in English.
