Enron
and Worldcom, two names that possibly conjure up
unpleasant images of big business rife with corporate
deception and corruption.
Fortunately the vast majority of businesses are not like this and place great
emphasis on the robustness of their internal control procedures.
The definition and implementation of a self assessment methodology,
to determine risks and document and report on control mechanisms
was 12 month project run
out of the UK for a British multinational.
The objective was to ingrain risk assessment and control as an everyday element
of all business process and to move the emphasis of responsibility from the company's
Internal Audit function
to business management.
