Project Structure

Outline

The ETP Consultancy team specialise in the provision of Business Continuity Management services, offering scaleable solutions to a wide range of business sectors. Our consultants provide advice, facilitation, in depth business reviews etc. right up to the production of a fully documented recovery plan.

We adopt a flexible approach within the basic structured framework of business continuity management in order to meet individual requirements and to integrate with a client's normal method of working as far as practicable whilst adhering to fundamental best practice.

In outline the primary elements considered when creating a business continuity planning process are:

  • identification and clarification of the primary business objectives

  • key processes and/or functions involved in the achievement of the defined objectives

  • internal and/or external constraints and dependencies

  • analysis of impact of failure of key processes or functions

  • determination of likely risks leading to failure of key processes

  • identification of control, contingency or recovery actions appropriate to risk

Beyond the production of a 'plan', a business continuity management process should become an integral part of the normal management of the business, with:

  • clearly defined ownership at a senior level, leading to regularised:

    • to review and maintenance, to ensure accuracy of key information

    • testing of the plan, providing assurance of effectiveness

    • challenge of the plan to ensure ongoing appropriateness to the needs of the business

eTrading Partners Ltd is a corporate member of the Business Continuity Institute and fully supports its goals in the promotion of the highest standards of professional competence and commercial ethics in the provision and maintenance of business continuity management and services.

Schedule of work

It is very difficult to provide a specification of elapsed time for various project stages in certain areas, such as the identification of recovery strategies and preparation of BCPs, where the extent of the work involved will only become clear upon analysis of the workshop output and information obtained during interviews etc. In other areas there is a reliance on prompt client review and feedback.
