Business Continuity ETPConsulting

Case Study 5

Business Continuity - a matter of life or death?

As one of the UK’s leading independent nursing agencies, providing specialist skilled nurses often at very short notice, on a temporary basis to major NHS Trusts and private sector clients throughout England and Wales for over 20 years, this client needed the utmost confidence in it's ability to meet customer demands within minutes 24 hours a day, every day.

Business Continuity Planning takes on a whole new meaning where minutes matter. The failure of key business systems or processes would not only start to have an immediate commercial impact but the inability to identify and provide specialised nursing resources, such as a skilled cardiac theatre or neo-natal intensive care nurse could also have a profound impact on people's lives.

ETP Consulting were able to work with this business and assist in the identification of key risk areas within the organisation. We were further engaged to manage the implementation of resilience controls and continuity planning procedures and were able to collate all the key information and provide a documented Continuity Plan.

We have been regularly engaged to review and update the continuity plan in line with the development of the business and also to 'project manage' a planned schedule of continuity testing activities.

Our involvement has enabled business managers to focus on the day to day operation of the business, whilst providing a high level of assurance of the seamless continuity of operations in the event of problems occurring.
